Growing and Greening the Campus
Today the Borough and Township of Princeton have a combined population of over 30,000 people, and the University has grown to hold approximately 7,000 students and 9.4 million gross square feet of building space. Since the 1970s the campus has continued to grow, infilling within the campus to maintain walkability, bringing world-class innovative architecture to complement the historic buildings and maintaining its landscapes and natural resources. Still recognized around the world for its impressive eclectic mix of architecture and beautiful gardens, greens, and natural areas, the campus of tomorrow will need to meet the needs of the evolving institution while maintaining the historic beauty of the campus.
